The First Step in…

Thought of the Week:
The first step in change is not an outside movement but an inside decision. The outside movement comes from inside belief!

Action Step:
Decide to make a change within and then take action steps in line with that decision. That is belief in what you have decided. The other side of it is despair where you take action not out of belief that it will work but out of desperation that it may work. Just be careful who and what you believe when in desperation mode – trust yourself more! Believe in your decision by taking action on them!!

What is one decision you can make today/this week internally that you can then take action steps to bring it forth externally?

Empower people to…

Some thoughts for you to ponder, implement or just share. These ideas have changed my life and I know will do the same for you.

Thought of the Week:
Empower people to change by first changing yourself!

Action Step:
Taking action on the thought above is never about anyone else but you. Actually, whether other people change or not is irrelevant. The only focus you should have is within you and because of that your external situations, experiences and people in your life will change.

What is one thing you can be aware of today (this week) that you can change? Small steps create huge results. Huge steps create sore ankles, shaky knees and doubt unless you are truly ready to leap!

Be Afraid of…

Imagine if you were afraid or scared of what you might miss today or what you might not become instead of being scared of what may happen or what people may think of what you may do? Would that just change the way you see the world? Would that make a major difference in your life.

Be scared of what you might miss out on because you didn’t follow your heart. Be scared or afraid of what or who you currently are so you can move into who you really might be. Jim Rohn always says “don’t miss out on life”. I think we have become a society that has channels their fears in the wrong directions. We are afraid to become who we truly are. We should be afraid of what we already are!

LIVE CALL REPLAY: HAPPINESS IS CHEAP!

What a great call we had last Wednesday night. You guys rock! Keep it real and keep it going…there comes a time in everyone’s life when they have to make a critical decision: “Walk My Own Path To Greatness” or “Follow The Crowd To Mediocrity”.

It takes the same amount of energy to do both. One requires faith and an unknowing. The other requires you suppress your dreams and awesomeness for the POTENTIAL betterment of someone else who may or may not become great! Choose wisely my friends…choose wisely.

If you like what you are hearing, please leave some comments and share the information with others. The more people we get to walk a path of greatness the more of this world we touch in a way that has been needed for some time now.

Change is Easy

That statement sounds good and I was once a big promoter of it. I finally realized that change is a process and for some it takes more time than others. I used to use that statement because I was one of those people that had to deal with a lot of lows (defined by limited mines) in my life (which I created of course and didn’t take accountability over it) and when I reach more successful periods I would just tell my clients, friends and anyone who would listen to “Just Change” or ”Just do it”.

It is easy when we feel like our life is going well to be able to tell people to “just let go”, “just start”, “stop procrastinating”, etc. The challenge around that is there is a process and based on where someone is in this process they will either move forward or backward. Sometimes people need to take two steps back because they walked by a different path and now need to take that one.

I have found myself in some pretty challenging situations and yet I never panic. See, my beliefs are greater than this world and the limitations we put on ourselves. While I wrestle with the ideas of wealth, money, fame, power, compassion, influence and all those egotistical ideas, I find for me it comes down to detachment. I know people will tell me you can’t help others being broke (how humanistic of them). You can’t change the world without money. You can’t become successful unless you become rich…on and on it goes.

As I sit here writing this my ego is telling me that I need to get moving. That I need to do more so I can make more so I can help more. It seems we’ve interpreted all the great literature (or scripture) in the world to mean: you have to be successful at material gain in order to do good in this world. You see, money is a material thing. I know…some of you are going to start that egotistical talk about what I am saying because your ego can’t seem to let go of the idea that it is in control and you need this stuff.

I guess if you want to play on the human level only, then go for it. However, that is so limiting yet that, it seems, is where to start. That is why I say Change is a Process. You will always be tapped on the shoulder and asked to become more of who you truly are. I am not saying you shouldn’t enjoy the fruits of this world. What I am saying is, there is nothing in this material world that will ever fulfill you in ways that are so profound you could only then start to realize who you truly are and the change work that happens in the world because of it.

Until then, carry on and realize where you are as well as where other people are. Change, although is easy per se, is a process and it only looks easy because we only seem to look at those who are at that point to change. I seem to forget the challenges that go on inside me before, during and after the change process and that is when I start saying change is easy.

Again, don’t mistake this blog post as an admission that you shouldn’t go for materialistic dreams. I have many. It all starts with who you have to become and that is the process of changing who you are which will then change what you do and how you will do it.

Pre-suppositions (Framework) of NLP

The Pre-suppositions of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

In NLP we pre-suppose certain beliefs that facilite the ability to look at things differently.

1. NLP is not a model of repair…it is a model of acquisition…a generative model.

2. The techniques of NLP are not NLP. The techniques are a product of thinking a certain way. Or better said: NLP is a way of thinking that leaves behind a trail of techniques!

Mind Over Money

One of the great challenges in my life has been my thoughts around money. I was (<–past tense) brought up with idea of lack. Never enough. I watch my mom hide the bills as she struggled (<–learned this to) to raise three boys. As I worked toward learning more about NLP and how it can help change beliefs by changing values it dawned on me that maybe I should see where I’m at now with my ideas on money.

You see, I really made some bad decisions when it came to money AND I would get frustrated after the fact and promised I was going to change. And then, the next bad decision. I hated the way I felt but for the life of me I couldn’t seem to make the changes I wanted quick enough. Oh yeah, that was another belief I picked up….”It takes a long time to change.” [Read more...]
