That statement sounds good and I was once a big promoter of it. I finally realized that change is a process and for some it takes more time than others. I used to use that statement because I was one of those people that had to deal with a lot of lows (defined by limited mines) in my life (which I created of course and didn’t take accountability over it) and when I reach more successful periods I would just tell my clients, friends and anyone who would listen to “Just Change” or ”Just do it”.
It is easy when we feel like our life is going well to be able to tell people to “just let go”, “just start”, “stop procrastinating”, etc. The challenge around that is there is a process and based on where someone is in this process they will either move forward or backward. Sometimes people need to take two steps back because they walked by a different path and now need to take that one.
I have found myself in some pretty challenging situations and yet I never panic. See, my beliefs are greater than this world and the limitations we put on ourselves. While I wrestle with the ideas of wealth, money, fame, power, compassion, influence and all those egotistical ideas, I find for me it comes down to detachment. I know people will tell me you can’t help others being broke (how humanistic of them). You can’t change the world without money. You can’t become successful unless you become rich…on and on it goes.
As I sit here writing this my ego is telling me that I need to get moving. That I need to do more so I can make more so I can help more. It seems we’ve interpreted all the great literature (or scripture) in the world to mean: you have to be successful at material gain in order to do good in this world. You see, money is a material thing. I know…some of you are going to start that egotistical talk about what I am saying because your ego can’t seem to let go of the idea that it is in control and you need this stuff.
I guess if you want to play on the human level only, then go for it. However, that is so limiting yet that, it seems, is where to start. That is why I say Change is a Process. You will always be tapped on the shoulder and asked to become more of who you truly are. I am not saying you shouldn’t enjoy the fruits of this world. What I am saying is, there is nothing in this material world that will ever fulfill you in ways that are so profound you could only then start to realize who you truly are and the change work that happens in the world because of it.
Until then, carry on and realize where you are as well as where other people are. Change, although is easy per se, is a process and it only looks easy because we only seem to look at those who are at that point to change. I seem to forget the challenges that go on inside me before, during and after the change process and that is when I start saying change is easy.
Again, don’t mistake this blog post as an admission that you shouldn’t go for materialistic dreams. I have many. It all starts with who you have to become and that is the process of changing who you are which will then change what you do and how you will do it.

Many times in my life I have said those famous restricting words: “No, I can’t, I have no time”. Until one day a mentor of mind challenged me on it and showed little exercise that change my whole world around time management.
You see I was always taught to schedule out my day. Nail down all your appointments to the minute. I spent more time on trying to manage my daily time that I had no [Read more...]
We all follow somebody or something that shapes who we are. You may say that you are a loner and don’t interact with people. That doesn’t matter. If you read, listen to music, listen to talk radio, watch the news, veg out in front of the TV or what ever (or whomever) you are predominantly doing/following on a daily basis is who you are becoming.
You can test this…see what I mean in the video below!
Sometimes, we have a destination in mind, but we don’t know how to get there. Sometimes, we think we know how to get to our destination, but we are taking the wrong route. Or, sometimes we can start out on the correct route, but we do things to sabotage our journey. Have any of these scenarios ever happened to you? These scenarios can be the case whether you think of taking a cross-country trip, or in our figurative journey of life.
Actually, these scenarios can happen quite a lot. When they occur, we need help. Maybe we need efficient directions. Maybe we need someone to help us draft up a plan, or a path to follow. Maybe we need encouragement to begin the journey, and stay on the journey when the road gets bumpy. A Life Coach can help you do all of these things and more.
A Life Coach is someone who’s mission and goal is to help their clients gain success in their personal or professional endeavors. Again, people might need a little nudge or push in the right direction. It’s hard to find people in our everyday life that have the time or energy to meet with you, and help you help yourself. The average person could certainly benefit from a person who is figurative on the outside, looking in.
A Life Coach is a professional that you’d want to hire, first because they aren’t emotionally blinded by your issues. What this means is that often times, we are too close to our issues or fears to make sound or progressive decisions. A Life Coach can see your “blind spots”. While they care, they aren’t going to be sentimental with any issues or relationships that are defeating or negative.
A Life Coach isn’t going to allow you to get stuck in your past. Your life coaching sessions won’t be about how you didn’t get enough hugs as a child. It won’t be about performing exercises that help you overcome your depression, anxieties, or any mental issues. A Life Coach certainly won’t let you get stuck in the “blame game”. That’s not what a Life Coach is there for, and those types of attitudes are counterproductive to what life coaching is about. A Life Coach wants to get you propelled and motivated to move forward. Life Coaching isn’t about the things that are impossible to go back and change. Life Coaching is all about creating the future you want, starting today.
The great thing about this is that the client doesn’t have to waste valuable time, energy, or money talking about issues that keep them stuck in the past. A Life Coach works with their client to discuss goals and plans. Many people think that they have goals if they come to realizations, or conceptualize things in their minds. Conceptualizing is certainly a good start, but that’s only a start. Another word for conceptualizing is dreaming. A Life Coach walks their clients from the dream stage to the goal and planning stages. In order for dreams to keep true, the client needs to set goals. The Life Coach helps their client to set realistic, achievable goals. In this way, the client can stop sabotaging their efforts in life being unrealistic, or not setting goals at all.
After goals are set, the Life Coach then works with their clients to make plans to support their goals. This stage involves the day-to-day things that a client does to make their goals happen. The thing to note about all of this is that the Life Coach doesn’t do any hand holding or coddling. This defeats the purpose of the sessions. The purpose of a Life Coaching session is to make the client feel empowered. The client should feel like they are confident, and capable.
Another reason that a potential client should hire a professional Life Coach is because the client can develop a sense of personal discipline, and pride. There’s nothing like investing in someone to hold us accountable and empower us to take action. It’s so easy to make excuses as to why life isn’t working out, goals aren’t being set and accomplished, or why a person can stay stagnated in ignorance. A professional Life Coach is someone who helps their clients have breakthroughs. A Life Coach cares enough about their clients to not allow the client to stagnate. Life coaching is all about progression, moving forward, change and growth.
Life coaching requires that the client has some level of personal integrity, strength, and endurance. A life coaching client in short needs to be a person who is ready to do the work involved. Again, a Life Coach isn’t there to do the work for you. They aren’t going to coerce you into your growth. They aren’t mental or emotional health professionals. A Life Coach can only do just that, coach you.
Your Life Coach will be both your cheerleading section, and your locker room coach. They will go over strategies that help you both in business, and in life. They will impart wisdom and knowledge that has worked for them, and that they hope will work for you. They will give you pats on the back, but not on your head. They will constantly remind you that you can do whatever it is that you’re endeavoring in. But again, you have to be ready to endeavor.
One thing to note is that not all great Life Coaches need certification. There are many people who are certified, but might not be a good Life Coach or they might not be that person that meets your unique needs. So many people only look at leadership as it relates to their job, business or some form of money generation. Fortunately, that is only a small part of the equation. Leadership is embedded in all forms of life. Being a great father, husband, wife, daughter, friend, aunt or uncle has leadership qualities.
How about being a productive part of society and leaving the world better when you leave than how you found it? So many ways to see leadership.
This video is my definition of what leadership is and how you can become or develop the leader in you!
Let me know what you think by leaving comments below. Be the leader you can be today!
Have a phenomenal day!
Have you ever closed your eyes, or stared off in the distance, and imagined what your life could be like in the future? What are the things that you imagined in your mind? Have you imagined yourself moving to a new city or country that you’ve always wanted to? Have you imagined yourself starting a business, or growing the business that you’ve already started? Do you have a talent, and you know that with the right development, you could make a nice income for yourself, and be paid for doing what you love? Do you wish that you had someone to talk to about these things? Do you wish that you had the right person in your corner to bring these things to life? The good news is that there is a person like this, and that person is a professional Life Coach.
Let’s take a look at a couple of things. First, the things that come to us in our imagination are concepts, or dreams. Dreams are very powerful, and very important. America, as we know it, was started with a dream. First, the explorers that discovered and named America dreamed that they’d be able to find a new way to sail to the Orient. Then a couple of hundred years later, the early settlers from England dreamed that they could live in land that offered personal and religious freedom. So many innovations that are a part of our daily life started with a dream. Dreams can seem so far out, and many times people will scoff at our dreams. A Life Coach is one person who is there to believe in your dreams.
Life Coaching is the practice of coaching clients on their journeys to personal or professional success, whatever that means to them. Everyone has dreams that are unique to them. The issue that most face is how to verbalize their dreams, how to set goals that will help realize their dreams, and how to take daily steps that sets the clients up for success. A Life Coach takes care of all of these issues. In this sense, A Life Coach could also be called a Success Coach. Their main purpose is to set their clients up for success, and to show their clients that personal and professional success can be a reality.
A person who is a dreamer is someone who is open to new ideas, methods, and outcomes. This type of person is a perfect candidate for life coaching. A Life Coach will challenge a client to think outside of the box when it comes to achieving their goals. The Life Coach will help the client do an inventory on what is working in their lives, and what types of things are challenges or hindrances. The goal of course is the learn how to eliminate hindrances, and other negative self-defeating patterns. Many times a person will need the help of an outside professional. A Life Coach can be exactly what they need.
So, are you ready to realize your dreams this year? Are you ready to roll up your sleeves, and do the work that will be needed to set goals and accomplish daily task? Do you have heart and endurance to commit to success when things get challenging, or don’t turn out like you plan? Are you ready for a Success Coach to help you face yourself? Are you ready to get out of your own way, and ask for help? If you are, then I am waiting to hear from you. I am looking for clients that are mentally and emotionally ready to succeed. I am the Life Coach that will help you search inside yourself, and develop heart, courage, and endurance. If any of these attributes appeal to you, or you need tweaking and development, reach out to me at 215.816.3692 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
