The First Step in…

Thought of the Week:
The first step in change is not an outside movement but an inside decision. The outside movement comes from inside belief!

Action Step:
Decide to make a change within and then take action steps in line with that decision. That is belief in what you have decided. The other side of it is despair where you take action not out of belief that it will work but out of desperation that it may work. Just be careful who and what you believe when in desperation mode – trust yourself more! Believe in your decision by taking action on them!!

What is one decision you can make today/this week internally that you can then take action steps to bring it forth externally?

LIVE CALL REPLAY: HAPPINESS IS CHEAP!

What a great call we had last Wednesday night. You guys rock! Keep it real and keep it going…there comes a time in everyone’s life when they have to make a critical decision: “Walk My Own Path To Greatness” or “Follow The Crowd To Mediocrity”.

It takes the same amount of energy to do both. One requires faith and an unknowing. The other requires you suppress your dreams and awesomeness for the POTENTIAL betterment of someone else who may or may not become great! Choose wisely my friends…choose wisely.

If you like what you are hearing, please leave some comments and share the information with others. The more people we get to walk a path of greatness the more of this world we touch in a way that has been needed for some time now.

Philosophy of Today

When I was sticking a needle in my arm I had determined focus to get what I wanted when I wanted. I stole, fought, manipulated and connived to get high just for today. Now, I know that is destructive behavior and I am no way suggesting that anyone participate in it.

I am just making a point about focus and determination. When getting high was on the line I would have sold my mother (yikes). Now that our goals and dreams are on the line we aren’t even willing to give it 5, 10 or 15 hours a week. We would rather work the 40 hours for 40 years DEAD plan and let the outside world (news media, losers, negative people – sometime family, etc.) disctate life to us.

Did you not know who you are and what you are capable of? Get to know me. I will introduce you to your better self!

Stayed tuned. I have to go so please leave a comment and start a revolution!

Do you Trust your Faith?

I heard a story the other day that got me thinking about Faith (or belief) and Trust. The story goes like this:

“Over a huge waterfall there stretched a tightrope. Eager spectators clustered around two small wooden platforms, one on each side of the falls. From a platform on one end of the tightrope, and acrobat called to the audience, ‘Do you believe that I can cross the falls by walking on a tightrope?’ Some were skeptical; others thought it could be done. A few spectators cried out, ‘Yes, go ahead. Let’s see if you can.’ Armed with nothing but his pole for balance, the acrobat stepped out on the high wire, the great chasm of thundering spray loomed below.

“Carefully he made his way across and stepped from the wire onto the opposite platform. The crowd whistled and cheered. Then he asked them, ‘Do you believe I can push a wheelbarrow across the tightrope to the other side?’ This time, many were optimistic. They’d seen him cross once and believed he could do it again. Most of them called out, ‘Yes, yes, you can do it!’ The acrobat took his wheelbarrow, positioned it with great care, and stepped out onto the tightrope once again. Slowly he made his way out over the falls, placing just enough weight forward onto the wheelbarrow to maintain perfect balance. Crossing above the roaring waters, he made his way to the platform where he had first begun. This time the crowd shouted and whistled like true believers. All traces of skepticism were gone.

“The acrobat rested for a few minutes, mopping his brow with a handkerchief and refreshed himself with a drink of water. Then he addressed the crowd: ‘Now do you believe that I can push this wheelbarrow across the waterfall?’ Having just seen him do this, they cheered with gusto. ‘Do you believe that I can take a passenger across the falls in this wheelbarrow?’ he asked. Once more the people cheered wildly. This was getting to be quite a show. ‘Very well, then,’ he said. ‘Who would like to get in?’”

Now, I know this story has its religious overtones and that is ok. However, this story can be applied to any part of your life. So many people talk about how they believe in one thing or another but never really ask themselves if they trust their own belief.

As I work with people (or coach them) regardless of whether they are starting a small business, going for a new job, working towards the promotion or trying to build better relationships they all have a belief that they can achieve the very thing we are discussing. But as I dig deeper I find that most of them do not trust their own belief. They make statements similar to this: I believe I am the best qualified for that position but I think Mr. X will get it because he is friends with the boss; or, I believe I can start my own business but I am not sure if it will work out; or, I know (believe) that I can lose the wieght but I don’t like diets or going to the gym is hard for me.

I can go on with different versions of these statements and I am sure you can come up with your own. So, here is the question for you. Do you Trust your own Faith (or Belief)? It is a simple process of finding out whether you trust your own faith (belief). Look at what you believe in and ask if you would put yourself in that position and not just be an outside believer.

It comes down to whether or not you believe in a power greater than you that will take care of all your needs. This doesn’t mean you act stupid or go play in traffic while stating that you are protected from above. If you believed you were one with the infinite, you would never be in traffic in the first place!

Until next time….these are thoughts to think about as you go forth and live the life of your dreams. Trust your Faith!!!

If I slow down I go faster??? Right!

When you slow down to reflect on what it is you have to do and what it is that is really important, more things seem to get done. However, when you are constantly thinking that you have so much to do you end up working from a point of confusion and not much QUALITY work gets done. You may finish a lot of things but are they important and did you do your absolute best?

Slowing down helps you to put into perspective what is truly important and how to go about doing your absolute best in every situation. Being rushed by your own mind is a recipe for disaster down the road. You will never know that you are off course unless you slow down to read the signs!!!

It takes discipline to slow your mind down so you can think and be centered. Try meditating for 20 minutes a day and see the transformation expressed in your attitude and ultimately your life.

Peace
